LES NORRIS

Another great stalwart of the Club passed away on 28th July aged 80.

Les was given the moniker "Lucky".  I do not know if Les was lucky in life or love however it was the Club`s great fortune to have Les as a member for over 50 years. As well as being an able 2nd XI Player from the mid 1960`s and Captain in 1975 & 76, his greatest contribution was on the ground where he was Ground Chairman for a record 12 years, Match & Fixture Secretary for 20 years and Hon Treasurer from 1994 until 2007. He was elected as a life Member in 1984.

A fuller appreciation will appear on the Club Website in due course.

The Funeral Service will be at Vale Royal Crematorium, Northwich on Monday 14th August at 1.45 p.m . The Club will be making a donation in memory of Lucky Les to Macmillan Cancer Support.

We pass on our condolences to Jean, his cousin and family.

HBCC is 70 this year!

There's just over a week before HBCC celebrates its 70th birthday with the Mad Batters' Tea Party. Seats at the table are strictly limited to 80, so please get a wiggle on and buy yours - £15 adults, £7 u16s. They are available from the bar, Sophie S and Richard F.

If you can't get down to the club or meet with us in person, then please email and we can put a ticket aside for you.

There are some cracking raffle prizes to be won on the day, including some top Test Match tickets. Let's make this a day to remember!

Selection News

We will now have an increase in availability after Uni/Exams etc. Please make sure you let the captains know when you are available so we don't have anyone not getting a game and Barnstormer fixtures will now be commencing weekly on Sundays so more places to fill every week.

Competition for places will be increased this season as we have a larger squad of players across the senior teams which is great for the club - training commitment and performance will be key in selection.

Please make sure your Annual Subs have been paid or an arrangement approved through a senior club captain/treasurer - we are now past the 1st June when non payment means non selection as technically your club membership has lapsed.

Membership Drive

HBCC is looking for new members of all ages who are looking to play competitive cricket.  We are especially keen to bring in players who aspire to play First XI cricket to help the club push for league honours and promotion back into the top divisions of Cheshire cricket.

If you know anyone who's looking for a new club or is looking to take up the game after a few years out of the game then please get in touch - you are always welcome.
